Classification list for train assembly
Waybill Card System
Is a Card system for operation, which can be used for small or large layouts. The Waybill Card System uses a spreadsheet data file as does most car card or switch list methods. The advantage of the Waybill Card System is the movement of cars does not require the verifying of cars between each operational session or the rotation of a sequence card.
The Waybill Card System uses Index cards that are in the form of a CAR TYPE, not the car numbering system.
or identification. Because the Waybill Card System only uses the car TYPE the operator has the option to deliver any car TYPE in the consist at the destination listed.
The Waybill Card System has the delivery location on the card plus the sequential move the car will make and the train which moves that car like a switch list.
When a car is delivered the Waybill Card System will remain with that car each time a move occurs. Should a car NOT get moved, no reset or adjustment is required for the Waybill Card System to function. The Waybill Card System is not dependent on the correct position of a car between sessions. If an operator fails to move a car in a session that next move can be done in the next session of any session thereafter.
By using the spreadsheet data base, the Waybill Card System can generate a Yard classification schedule and the Waybill Cards for each operation session.
By using the Waybill Card System, the repetitiveness of the same car being delivered at the same location each time
is very slim. From the cars departure from the yard and the return to be used on a duplicate move is not common.
The Waybill Card System does not require the rotation of a move card like the car card method, nor does it require the verification of the position of previous operation movements, or the writing a switch list for each operation..
